Edgewater Strategy Group Serves as Office of the CFO Partner to Sylmar Group as Its Water Platform Expands Nationally

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 9, 2026) – Edgewater Strategy Group (“Edgewater”), a boutique advisory firm specializing in M&A, capital raises and Office of the CFO services, today announced that it has served as the embedded Office of the CFO partner to Sylmar Group (“Sylmar”) since December 2024, supporting the company’s finance function as the industrial water platform expanded across the United States through a series of add-on acquisitions.

Sylmar brings established local water businesses together on a single national platform. Its water treatment companies provide chemical programs, equipment and field service for cooling, boiler, process and wastewater systems, while its utility services businesses service and redevelop water wells and pumps. Together they serve industrial, commercial, institutional, agricultural and municipal customers across the country.

Since Edgewater’s engagement began, the platform has grown both its footprint and its capabilities. In February 2025, Sylmar’s General Pump Company acquired Legend Pump & Well Service, a San Bernardino, California pump and well contractor, deepening its coverage of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In June 2025, Sylmar’s EAI Water added LaMotte Water Management, a Williamsburg, Virginia provider of cooling tower and boiler treatment programs. The July 2025 acquisition of R2J Chemical Services, founded in 1982 and based in Pinellas Park, gave Sylmar its first presence in Florida, and in December 2025 Sylmar acquired ProChem Water of Elliston, Virginia, a specialist in engineered water treatment, water reuse and wastewater systems.

In 2026, Sylmar entered Texas with the acquisition of Aquatrol Services, which brings expertise in cooling and boiler water, laboratory services and custom chemical blending. It then deepened its presence in the Northeast with Butler Water Corrections, a New Jersey water treatment company founded in 1938, and Tower Water, a New York City-area specialist in water treatment and Legionella management founded in 1992.

Throughout this period, Edgewater has worked as an integrated extension of Sylmar’s finance team. Its Office of the CFO team supports FP&A and annual budgeting across the group’s operating companies, consolidated monthly reporting and the year-end audit, and has helped implement Sage Intacct and Vena as the platform’s accounting and planning systems. For each of the acquisitions above, Edgewater has supported the opening balance sheet and purchase accounting work and helped bring the acquired business into Sylmar’s month-end close and consolidated reporting, and on the more recent transactions it supported the closing funds flows. Following the ProChem Water acquisition, Edgewater has also provided hands-on accounting and reporting support within the ProChem business.
